What can I say, Sat had wave that caught all of us by surprise, 2-3 and pumping. I didnt think there was going to be anything bigger than what we had during the week, but to my surprise it was cranking. I was expecting a easy morning in the water, have a few cold ones, breakfast than golf, but, had waves and I had to work hard to from getting SUPunished on the reef. Maybe thats why I couldnt hit the ball at times. We got to kaneohe klipper and wanted to hit some balls to warm up, jonny gave me some pointers that totally messed up my swing, may that's why I couldnt hit the ball at times. Was so hot and Humid, my balls got all wet.....take it easy....jonny's beer bag was leaking water on my stash of golf balls, maybe that's why? Thomas gave me some advice on the 1st tee off, he said stay left, because the driving range is on the right, I did just as he said, but he didnt say how far to hit it, so I kept it close so I wouldnt lose sight of my shot, good thinking huh? On the par threes I thought they was playing closest to the coconut tree, dam I didnt know was closest to the pin? I hit four trees, that should count for something on my score card right? Jonny boy was amazed that I could hit the ball while I was laughing, I could feel the three other in my group laughing with me too, or were that laughing at me? I thought I did pretty good, I had a 83, pretty good huh? I didnt have that much time to gloat, because I still had to play the back nine. I thought I won the front nine, I smoked everybody with my score until I found out you suppose to get it in the hole with the least amount of strokes. My game plan has always been to get as much strokes as you can before you get it in the hole :o I guess it is different in golf. So on the back nine, I actually cut down my stroke count 14 strokes, no, wasnt all par 3's, I think not going one for one with jonny on the miller light, helped, the miller light, hindered my ability to find the hole, maybe that's why? I was kind of disappointed when I found out we were at our last hole, I actually finished stronger than how I started, I killed it off the tee, of course i kind of duffed my 1st hole tee off because of thomas advice. All in all i had a great time, I hope jonny, dean and janner had a good time, mahalo for your patients, I did win a prize, a dozen long range balls, that I will give away to thomas since he gave me such good advice, and I also won $$ and also a lucky number prize too. I can honestly say that it was the best round i shot in the past 3 years, last time I played was 5 years ago though. I was also amazed that i didnt get blisters, and I could go SUP the next day, all this SUP is actually good conditioning, for real. I am ready for the next golf tourny already
Small and crowded, not as much waves as yesterday, still able to get in a decent work out. weekend should be crowded, dont expect waves, winds were still Var. did manage a few nice pics with my digital, a ho hum friday. Looking forward to Golf tomorrow, I havent played a round in over 5 years, I hope they made the hole bigger for me on the greens, the only greenies I had lately was the one in bigdawgs cooler :0
Like I said, going be junk, west to south west winds came on, water came bumpy, dirty at the point, waves came down. But I still managed to get a good work out, I had too, got a big chinese lunch today for one of our old time employees, maybe even a few cold ones too. Jonny left early, good thing, the man in the brown soot came looking for you. What you did now?
Started off the day with a slight kink in my back, small kine pain. 1st time I had pain since I started SUPing. Woke up early since was so humidly hot in my bed, no, not from ACTION!, was from lack of trades blowing down the valley. I tenderly hit the water and slowly SUP'd my way out to the break, then, I noticed a friken waves coming right for me in the channel, it ended up breaking right in front of me and pushing me back in the water, so much for staying dry, I lasted 1 minute staying dry today. then when I got out, I notice that my sun glasses(da costo ones with the yellow floatie thingy attached to it) were gone so, I paddled back to the spot i got hit and say the yellow thingy floating, but when I picked it up, the glasses were gone :(
I looked and looked with no sucess, I saw everything but my glasses, jonnies red fin, kaips gray fin, $100 bill, bongas kialoa paddle he lost up north, but no glasses. but I remember seeing a turtle pass under my board just before I saw my yellow thingy, I bet the turtle snatched my glasses, tried it on and kept it, he didnt like the thingy because it kept his head up all the time. So, if you see Joe kool Turtle with my new costco poloroids, tell him take good care of it and dont scratch the lens.
other than the Disastah of losing my glasses, it was good, thanks to all for not coming, no need come tomorrow because going be junk. today was girls day out at ML and Boyz day at SO, next time we going make social, like how it was back in our High Skool Days, clubs and socials. even with sore back, I could still stroke my paddle ;)
okay remember, stay home tomorrow
ct out, out of a sunglass too
This was emailed to me by one of my Tako Friends that I didnt spear
I think everybody either finally listened to me and stayed home or they are all burned out from the long weekend. Well, conditions was epic, crowd was epic, waves in the early part was pretty good all in all a good morning, nothing big, still had some nice looking waves but lacked power, no juice, tide was low and getting lower
Just got back from lunch with my soccer team I used to play with, one of my team mates it the bartender at the Shack. Beer, wings, curly fries, & skins, not the healthiest lunch but it sure tasted good. I am ready for my nap and then watch basketball.
Ah was good, then came junk, was empty then came crowded, never have contest, then had contest, tide was good, then came real low, and .......I forget the rest. all I know was hot, I was getting complaints that I no blog, I no update, I tired look at the steak, blah, blah blah......monku monku monku......wassup wit dat? no mattas.
Like i said, small, flat and crowded and lo lo tide. one disastah I saw was PapayaMan went from a thruster to a twin fin set up after a wave and vana in his foot as a bonus. it was a super nice day, but waves were slow to arrive. I did my best to keep myself busy and to avoid the reef, I dont need another tattoo. The most I can offer you is a peek of my dinner on my trip to prison(vegas) last week.
Check it out,
Buggah was ono
It was more of the same, nothing exciting, Look like TC was getting some goods ones today. tide was low and I heard going get Lo Lo tomorrow. Stay home and rest tomorrow, going be flat and crowded
Well I guess I am back to my routine after a weekend in cin sity, a weekend of all the cins of life, too bad I cant tell you what happened. Remember the saying? what happens in Vegas, Stays in Vegas
started off monday flying in and landing at 5:20am, I had my SUB/paddle in the car parked at the airport and $40 later I was headed to K-land. After a full day at the office, I had dinner with the wife, took a shower and had a cold one with the 9pm news and I dont remember anything else. got up at 7am vegas time, I never change my watch yet. drank my java, check my email, read my sons blog (he is in Africa for a month) and sat on the throne before patting my dogs on the head/butt and headed down to k-land. When I got there there were a few guys out already and tide was low, was a good morning with epic like conditions, waves that would make Nelson happy and pound lisa who got caught on the inside. all and all a good morning in paradise. Met jonny for lunch yesterday since I was around his work place, we ate mexican, not bad, we wished we had some cold one to wash it down though. Bonga was complaining that the never open the parking lot until late, he had to park outside and walk a extra 30 yards. Man do we have it Rough!
aloha, I getting too tired to think already, Stay home, save gas and I catch you tomorrow
